Want to convert a table into an image in Microsoft Word or save it as a picture outside the document? Here’s how to do it.
With Microsoft Word, you can quickly turn a table into an image. This is a great solution when you have to share the Word doc and don’t want other people editing and formatting the table.
In this article, we’ll take a look at two easy methods to convert a Word table into an image and how to export the image from Microsoft Word.
This is the fastest way you can turn a table into a picture and insert it into your Word document. You can take a screenshot of the table and paste it into the same document. While this is the easiest method, it may not give you the best results.
You have to be very precise when selecting the table. Otherwise, the image will include white borders, and you’ll have a difficult time trying to find a layout style that looks good. Fortunately, there are better methods that will not spoil the overall look of your documents.
To insert the table as an image using the Paste Special option, start by clicking anywhere inside the table. This should bring up the table handle in the top-left corner of the table. Click on it to select the entire table.
Right-click the table and select Cut or Copy. Then, open the Home tab, extend the Paste drop-down menu, and click Paste Special.
In the popup window, select Picture (Enhanced Metafile) and click OK.
Microsoft Word will now insert the table as an image. You can now resize it, choose one of the layout options, or even stop the image from moving around in the document.
After you’ve turned the table into an image inside Word, you can save it on your computer. Right-click the image and select Save as Picture. Then, set the file destination and file type.
Using this method, you can quickly use the image in other apps, such as inserting it into your PowerPoint presentation.
Now you know how to turn a table into an image and save it outside of Word. Instead of sharing the entire document and having your coworkers look for relevant data, you can easily send the image.
Anyway, turning a table into an image in Microsoft Word isn’t only one of the features that can make your life easier when editing a document.
