Microsoft’s Bing now allows users to create AI-powered photos just by describing what they want

Microsoft Windows

Tech giant Microsoft on Tuesday rolled out a new update that allows users to create AI-powered visuals just by using their own words to describe the picture they want to see.

Microsoft Corp rolled out the update on Tuesday called ‘Bing Image Creator‘, a new AI-powered visual Stories and updated Knowledge Cards to the new Bing and Edge preview. Powered by an advanced version of the DALL-E model which comes from OpenAI, the new update will allow users to create an image by putting relevant prompts.

This new feature will allow users to create both written and visual content from within chat. Bing Image Creator will be integrated into Bing chat, rolling out initially in Creative mode starting Tuesday for users on desktop and mobile.

“We know from research that the human brain processes visual information about 60,000 times faster than text, making visual tools a critical way people search, create and gain understanding,” Microsoft said.

The tech company considered the information collected from Bing data to understand that images are the most searched categories on the web, second only to general web searches.

So How Will It Work?
It’s pretty simple. You just need to type in a description of an image and price additional context like location or activity and choose an art style, then the Image Creator will make an image using your own imagination.

“It’s like your creative copilot. Just type something like ‘draw an image’ or ‘create an image’ as a prompt in chat to get creating a visual for a newsletter to friends or as inspiration for redecorating your living room,” Microsoft said.

The new feature by Microsoft will also be available in Microsoft Edge, making it the first and only browser with an integrated AI-powered image generator. To use Bing Image Creator in Edge, simply click the Bing Image Creator icon in the sidebar to create your image or invoke from Bing chat in Edge.
